Amos 5:4

For thus saith the LORD unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live.

Could any command or any injunction ever be more clear? Could any statement or fact be ever given with more pointed and poignant potency than this? There is one way to live! One way! And how thankful I am that there is no ambiguity about it. If anyone wants to live, and if any wants to live life more abundantly, there is but one piece of advice for them. They must seek the Lord! Then He will be with us, as we so desire. He will be gracious unto the remnant if that remnant will seek Him. But there truly is no other way under the heaven to live. There is no other way on earth that one may devise to find true life. If we want life, we must seek the Lord!

Is there someone in need? Is there someone lost, someone in need of direction, someone without certainty as to the outcome of their situation? There is but one command for them. Oh, my dear friend, this day there is one injunction to you. Do you wonder what your next step should be? Do you wonder from whence will come your next provision? Are you concerned about something of the future? Are you worried of something that may be incipient upon you, or about an imminent event? Does this cause bewilderment? There is but one and only one command for you this day. And it is to seek the Lord! Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion. Seek the Lord and Him alone! Will you not seek Him today?

“Dear Lord in Heaven, we praise and thank you this very moment that the answer to all our problems, and the solution to all our quandaries is one and the same. That solution is always to seek after you. May we not seek after false gods, as Israel did; may we not seek after lesser answers, as many so often do. Let us not seek to worldly, fleshy, or other manmade and intellectual counterfeits, but may we go directly to the source of it all. Everything else will not bring lasting and permanent answers. May we find all of our answers in Thee. Let us seek the Lord this day, and we shall live! In Jesus’ name we pray and trust, Amen.”
