Revelation 1:5

And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood…

This book, the book of Revelation, has a dedication statement, and it is recorded here. It is dedicated unto Him that loved us. And, oh, what great love it is! Behold, what manner of love! Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us! He loved us greatly, beyond the capacity of any of us to love others! And this book is about Christ, the one who first loved us. And because of His great love, He has washed us. He has washed us from our sins in His own blood. He did what none other could do. He took our sin away, by covering it under the crimson flow. Our sins are forever gone, eradicated, buried in the deepest sea. He has washed us from our sins in His own blood!

Now, dear friends, have you recently thanked the Lord for this wonderful position into which you have been placed? A place of forgiveness? A place of cleanness with the Lord? A place of wonderful purity before God? For this has been effected by the precious blood of Christ. His blood has washed over the sins of our past, the sins that we continue to commit, and the future sins which we may commit. Now, this is no reason to sin, but it is every reason to stay far away from sin! For the grace of God is our motivator! It is not our motivator to give occasion to the flesh, rather, it is a motivator to live a life that is daily clean and holy, a life that has all sin confessed. For if we confess our sins, we know that He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins. Let us remain cleansed. Let His blood give you a new start each day. You have already been forgiven! Now, take the precious blood that has been shed, and ask the Lord to apply it to the sin you commit each day. And you will be reminded again, that you are washed from your sins in the blood of Jesus Christ, our Savior!

“Dear Lord, we praise you for the blood that was shed. We could never thank you fully or adequately. Only eternity shall afford us that opportunity. For it is only by means of the blood of Christ that we have salvation and forgiveness. May we live in the joy of that every day, and may we seek to remain clean before the Lord. For the blood is always available and accessible for our use. Thank you for the washing of your blood. Wash us anew this day. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.”
