Psalm 100:4

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

Every day should be a day of thanksgiving. Every day, we should “enter into His gates with thanksgiving.” And every day we should “enter into His courts with praise.” Every day, our mouth should serve as a wide open gate through which flows praise, and every day we should enter His high heavenly court with the sacrifices of our lips, giving thanks to His name. For He is good! He is worthy to be praised! He is worthy to be extolled and adored and adulated. Let us worship Him this day, throughout the length of the day, and let us continue to exude adoration from the rising of the sun to the going down of the same. For His name is to be praised, and praise is comely for the upright.

In this verse we are adjured and admonished to be thankful unto Him, and to bless His name. Are you thankful unto Him today? Do you have things for which you are thankful? Yes, you do! Are you a child of God? If you are, you have a multitude of things to praise Him for. You have an enormous and untold bounty of spiritual blessings in Christ. And then, you have every earthly and temporal blessing from your Heavenly Father, who cares for you as He does all of His creation. If you have never come to repentance and faith in Christ, you have one thing to thank God for, and that is that Christ died for you on the cross. Your sins have been paid for by Christ. While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Turn to Him, and the remainder of your life should be one event of solemn praise to your wonderful Savior.

Dear brother or sister in Christ, be thankful unto the Lord today, recount His blessings, remember His benefits and forget them not, and give praise and thanksgiving to the Lord from morning to evening. And if you are unsure of what to thank Him for, begin with the cross and resurrection for you, think of the life which the Lord has so endowed you with, and consider every blessing He has bestowed upon you from the moment you became His. Do not leave anything out. Thank Him for the good and for the seemingly bad, for in it all He was working for your good, for His glory, and for the furtherance and performance of His wondrous plans. Be thankful, and praise Him today!

“Father in Heaven, we just want to praise you today. And we praise your precious Son, who procured our salvation for us. Let us be thankful this day and every day for your goodness, love, and blessings. Let us live this day in a state of thanksgiving and gratitude for all that you have done for each of us. May our thanksgiving overwhelm and overshadow anything that may cast a shadow on our joy in you. And may this be the cause of many thanksgivings to God. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.”
