Micah 3:8

But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin.

A terrible day had come to Israel. A dreadful epoch had just dawned for this nation. They had disregarded and ignored and maligned the prophets for so long now, as the Lord had risen early and sent them, that now they could not hear from God anymore. It wasn’t only that they would not hear, it was that they could not hear! The sun had gone down over the prophets! Is this not a most excruciatingly awful day? There was no answer from God! The vision was departed. The diviners heard nothing. No revelation or word from God was forthcoming. And, dear friends, this truly is the worst state that any nation could ever enter, and it is the worst condition that any human being could ever find themselves in. For what if they want to hear from God, but it is not within reach? Does this not seem utterly dreadful? No doubt it is.

But the most amazing truth is, that even in the midst of all this, there was a man still hearing from God! The nation had turned and refused to listen. They had turned the back and not the face. They laughed at, derided, ridiculed, and mocked the man of God. But the man of God? Look at him here! Micah the Morasthite! He is still hearing from the Lord! And not just hearing, but he is full of power by the spirit of the Lord! God’s Spirit was filling him and sustaining him with divine energy and vitality! God still had His man, and that man was still preaching! He still saw the vision of God! He still was getting an answer from God. When all else was dark, and when the sun had gone down over the land, his dwelling was still radiant, vibrant, and full of light.

Now, beloved, do you see that it is time that we intercede on behalf of a nation that more and more is heading towards to day of “no vision”? We must never allow this to happen! We must keep speaking the truth in the name of the Lord with passion and conviction. This is not the time to keep silent, but the time to speak, as long as the vision of God is still being revealed to His servants the prophets. Please pray, and please pray now! And pray that God may fill you with power by His Spirit that you may declare unto the nation its sin. Maybe your part is not the part of the prophet to preach and declare sin. That is all good and right. You must be passing on the truth to everyone you can, and you must not conform to the lies that are being told. You must stay in His Word and in prayer, and ask that the Spirit may fill you! You and I, every one of us, can be a messenger from God in this time in which the Lord has called us. We are here for such a time as this to be the salt that preserves and the lights that illuminates. May God help you to be that!

“Dear Lord, we know that we are not all a prophet as Micah was, or a preacher as the men of God were that you called. But we are all called of God to be your peculiar people, zealous of good works. We are called to bring forth the light of Christ in a crooked and perverse nation, among whom we shine as lights in the world. We are to be the preserving agent that stems God’s anger and wrath on a wicked nation. We all can make a difference for Thee! Show us the place that you have given us among our churches, our families, our friends, and our society. Fill us with power by the Spirit of the Lord today! And these things we pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
