Zechariah 6:15

And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of the LORD, and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you. And this shall come to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God.

What a glorious time shall be the time of the earthly reign of Christ! The magnificent millennium! That perfect period! The wonderful world! For it shall be a wonderful world in the which we shall live with the BRANCH ruling from His throne. And moreover, the covenant of peace! Evil shall not rule. Sin shall not have dominion. The devil shall not dominate and dictate over the masses. No! The King! The Branch! The Lawgiver! The Savior! The Redeemer! The root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star! He shall be King of kings and Lord or lords. This millennial kingdom shall be a Kingdom never seen before on this earth—full of peace and tranquility; full or glory and goodness. And we shall be there!

But all of us must notice the statement that cannot be ignored: that stipulation, the prerequisite, the condition to all of God’s blessings. Do we think that we will reign with Him when we have not lived for Him? Do we think we shall inherit all the blessings if we have not followed Him? Dear friends, we do not trust in our obedience for our salvation, but are we not commanded to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling? Are we not told that blessing comes from obedience? There is no other way! Our first step into the Kingdom of God is by obeying His prescribed way—the way of the cross. Therefore, every blessing beyond that shall come by diligently obeying the voice of the Lord our God.

Do you want the blessing? Do you want God to send the rain of His gracious and merciful and loving bestowments upon you? It is a good thing to desire. It is the best and greatest thing of all to crave. We should crave it indeed! But how will you receive it this day? There is only one way, and only one responsibility to which we should adhere, and all else will fall in its own order and in its own place. And that one duty, that one responsibility, that one prerequisite to all of God’s blessings is obedience to His ways. Obedience! Trust and obey! For there is no other way! Obey Him at once and with joy, and the blessings shall flow!

“Father, we praise you for the sublime simplicity of your revealed and holy Word. That simplicity by which we are commanded to live. May you help us to learn this most simple lesson that is ours today—to diligently obey the voice of the Lord our God. Whatever you are saying to us now, and whatever you may be commanding each of us, let us say “yes” to it and obey. And we shall praise you for the blessings that this shall bring. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.”
