Daniel 8:25
“…he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.”
Daniel is a book full of unsolved mysteries and inscrutable prophecies. Some of it has been revealed; some of it has been more fully expounded in the New Testament; much of it can be discerned through the light of other Scripture. But with all the thought, opinions, ideas, and teaching that has come out of this book, we must freely admit, that it has not yet been completely revealed. There are some things that we will only understand when we see our Lord’s face, and when the end times events begin to play out before us visibly and physically. We shall see these things happen, and then we shall understand.
There is, however, a great truth that is completely understandable, and is no mystery. And it is the truth that there will be a great enemy of Christ in the end who shall stand against the Lord Jesus, who is the Prince of princes, and that enemy shall not prevail against Him. This enemy shall be given dominion and power and rule on this earth for a time, but then he shall be broken “without hand.” There will be no battle that shall finally defeat him; he shall simply be destroyed with the breath of Christ’s mouth. He shall be cast forever into the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone. He shall be banished and exiled to eternal hell, away from the saints of the most High, and away from the presence of the Prince of princes. Be encouraged this day that no one can prosper against the King of kings!
What a great tonic this is for our hearts and minds this day! For you see! No one is stronger than the Prince! No one is more stalwart than the Savior! No one is mightier than the Master. He is Lord of all. He is the King, and no one can stand against Him. And further, if He is on our side, the whole world cannot defeat our cause. For if God be for us, who can be against us? Fear not the enemy, for he shall soon be broken without hand, and the great King of Glory will reign forever and ever. And we shall be with Him. No one is stronger than He! Rest in this great true today!
“Father in heaven, how we praise you for the promise we find here—that you shall defeat the puny and powerless purposes of the devil. He will have his time, but you shall remain triumphant and victorious in the end. Therefore, let us rest in that today, knowing that we are covered by your omnipotent hand. You are stronger than all the foes and fiends about us, and we have no cause for concern. Help us now only to trust in your power, as you work all things for our good and for your glory. And we shall praise you for it. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
