Revelation 17:14
These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
He is Lord of lords, and King of kings! Hallelujah! We are with the King, and He shall reign, and shall put all enemies under His feet! The day will come when all of Satan’s forces, his armies, and his comrades will unite with one heart and mind to fight against the Lamb. There shall be a great conglomerate that will meet at the place called Armageddon. There, all the enemies of the Lord shall prepare to fight the King of kings. And there they shall find out who will reign in power and glory. The Lamb shall overcome them! He will emerge triumphant and victorious! With the sword of His mouth, all His enemies shall be stubble.
But then—oh, but then! Who is with the Lamb? They that are with Him—there are some with Him here! When Jesus reigns over the kingdoms of the world, and when He defeats them on that day, He shall not do it alone. He shall not compass the breadth of the earth and take over all kingdoms by Himself, although there is no doubt ever that He could just as easily do such a thing. He could reign alone! He could singularly take on all the kingdoms of the world without any help, aid, or assistance. He is capable! He is able! But He chooses not to do it this way! He comes with the saints—those that are with Him! They are reigning with Him, rejoicing with Him, and participating in His great victory. These are the armies of Heaven, the saints. Oh, my dear fiends, do you not desire to be in that number? When the saints go marching in, let me be one!
And what do we learn of these? They are called, and chosen, and faithful. Oh, how seriously we must consider this. All those who are saved will be with Christ forever, but will everyone have this special place of reigning with Him? I know not the answer to this, but I do have one certain desire—that I may be there with Him in that final battle of the ages, slaughtering the cruel enemy of our souls, and destroying all the foes of our Lord. But they who are there are called. They are called by God! I am called even now to be His servant, constantly and faithfully fulfilling His will. They are chosen! I want to be chosen to be with Him on this great day. But all shall be according to His will. And these are faithful. This is something we may determine now—that we shall be part of the faithful. Those, who in anticipation of Christ’s return, serve Him day and night without ceasing. Let me be one of those! Let me be of the faithful who rest not until they see their Savior! Oh Lord, make me one of those! For a special place shall be granted to those who are called, chosen, and faithful.
“Dear Lord, our hearts sincerely long for what we have just read. We believe you have called us to your kingdom and glory, and we believe that our calling is to serve you until you appear. We believe we are certainly chosen in you, and pray that we shall be chosen for this highest honor, to reign with you at this apex of all battles, and at this pinnacle of the ages. What an honor that will be! But if we expect such things, we must be faithful until death, passionately giving our lives to your will, your way, and your work. Keep us, Lord, faithful to Thee, that we may be of this number. No other number is of importance compared to this. Help us, we pray, to be faithful until then. We pray these things in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
