Revelation 15:4

Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.

Today, we gaze upon the Lord Himself. He alone who is holy should receive all of our praise and honor and glory and blessing. These blessed saints who had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name are now standing on what appears to be a sea of glass mingled with fire. It is a stark and beautiful picture. It is an exquisite rendering of the life of these saints. Once in Heaven, they are on the sea of glass with the harps of God. They are in peace and tranquility. All trouble and anguish is passed away, and they are now before the presence of God in a state as calm as glass. They shall never be perturbed again. Nothing shall molest them for all of eternity. But this sea is mingled with fire, signifying the trouble and persecution that they had endured for Christ. And oftentimes the sea of glass does not come to us without the fire. And sometimes, amidst the fire, we can be at perfect peace with Him. This is a picture upon which all of us should give thoughtful meditation and consideration.

Now, when these saints begin to sing the song of Moses and the song of the Lamb, they begin with, “Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.” They simply worship before Him! “Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name?” What a great question this is! If anyone were to gaze upon the Lord and be vouchsafed the glimpse that was vouchsafed to John, he would immediately bow himself before the Lord and glorify Him forever. We would all praise and exalt and honor His holy name. For thou only art holy! Only He is holy. We may strive for holiness, for He is holy, and we therefore seek to be like Him. But there truly is no one as holy as the blessed Trinity. Did not the seraphim in Isaiah’s vision say, “Holy, holy, holy”? He alone is holy! Let us bow this day before the perfect and gracious and loving and holy God. All nations shall come and worship before Him! One day all shall bow! It is a beautiful thing to bow even now. It is a great privilege to know and love and worship the King of kings who liveth forever and shall reign forever. He alone is holy!

“Dear gracious God, we come to you in humility and worship, knowing our unworthiness. But Thou, Lord, art holy! And Thou alone art holy! There is none like Thee! We come with adulation, praise, and adoration. We know that Thou wilt accept our worship, and we pray that it will bring us to a higher mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional state this day as we draw more nigh to the throne of God. In the lovely name of Jesus we pray and exalt your name, Amen.”
