Revelation 4:11
Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
It is often of great benefit and spiritual enlargement to simply pause all of our activities and endeavors and worship our Lord. Here, we can see the scene opened in Heaven, in which there are four beasts giving glory and honor and thanks to the one who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever. They worship him, falling at His feet and saying, “Thou art worthy!” Thou art worthy! God is worthy! The everlasting, triune, holy God is worthy! The Lamb is worthy! In the next chapter we will see all the praise going to the Lamb, as an innumerable company of angels say with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.” He is worthy of all our praise!
I must ask you this morning, how often have you stopped to worship and praise the Lord? Let us fully understand, and not be mistaken. We shall praise and worship Him in eternity. Our song shall ever be to praise and glorify our Lord. Let it be the habitually practice of every Christian—to give Him praise, honor, and thanksgiving. For He is the one who has died for us! He, the Lamb, is the one who has procured eternal salvation for our souls, and has taken our place. May we worship Him daily and often. Praise Him! It is good for your physical and spiritual health! It shall be the health of thy countenance.
Thou hast created all things! Christ Himself is the one by whom all things consist. He has made it all, and we are the work of His hands. He is the Word, and we are alive in Him; therefore we praise Him. For His pleasure they are and were created. Everything was made for the pleasure of God Almighty! And it brings Him great joy when His creation praises and worships Him. Let us all in unison and with one heart and one spirit worship our Savior and our God.
“Father, we want to say with all the elders and angels that Thou art worthy. Thou art worthy of all our praise, honor, and glory. Thou art worthy of all our worship. And the Lamb is worthy. As we fall down before your throne, we praise you that you have redeemed us to God out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation. You have made us unto our God kings and priests. We have salvation through the glorious Lamb. Thank you, Lord! May we worship you often. In the lovely name of Jesus we pray, Amen.”
