Revelation 3:8
I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.
God is the God of open doors. Jesus Himself said that He had the key of David. And just as the Lord Jesus is an opener of doors, He is also a closer of doors. He is the one who opens and no man shuts, and shuts and no man opens. You cannot reverse what the Lord does. And you also cannot close a door that He has swung wide open. Therefore, in life, we want to walk through each of these wide open doors, and cease from trying to barge through doors that are closed. He sets before us open doors. They are set before us! We have a little strength. We cannot shut the doors He opens, and we cannot open them ourselves. We are of a very small strength. We may try with the most valiant effort we can muster, but the door will still remain shut if the Almighty does not open it for us.
Now, let me ask you today, is there a door that the Lord has seemingly opened? No doubt, He is opening it so that you may proceed through. He has opened it for you because you don’t have the strength to open it yourself. He knows that you have kept His word, and that you have not denied His name! Look for the open doors, and walk through them. But a word of caution would go as follows: just because we think a door is open doesn’t mean it is a door He has opened. Therefore, we must proceed with prayer, and if it becomes evident that the door cannot be closed and that all things have aligned that this may be shown as to be from God, we must not hesitate. We must go through this door at once! He is holding it open for you, waiting for you to pass through. It is open! Walk through it!
Dear friend, whatever door the Lord may be opening for you, I pray that you will walk through that door confidently, not with confidence in yourself, but in the one who opened the door for you. And if there is a door that He is closing, thank Him for everything that He is protecting you from. And let us walk through the doors that He opens!
“Father, give us discernment this day, we pray, to walk through every door that you open, and shun the doors that you close. Thank you for the marvelous doors that you open so that we may enter. Help us to go in your strength and in your power, knowing that you will meet us on the other side. Give us faith to believe this day in the opportunities that you have opened for us, because our faith is truly in you and in you alone. In Christ’s name, Amen.”
