Galatians 6:2

Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

What is the law of Christ? What is that one law, the fulfilling of which encapsulates the whole of God’s rules and principles? And when it comes to our dealing with others, it is this principle before us. We are to bear one another’s burdens! He does not call this the law of God, or the law of Moses, or the law of anyone else; He calls it the law of Christ. For you see! This is the law by which Christ went to the cross! He went to the cross to bear our burdens, that we may be forgiven and saved. He went to bear our iniquities, that we may don His righteousness. Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses. This is what Christ did for us, and therefore, it is the law of Christ!

Now, today I ask a simple and terse question—only one concise thought to ponder. Whose burdens may you bear today? It is God’s will that you bear someone else’s burden. Paul tells us here, “As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.” Do good unto all men! Bear someone’s burden! Look for a burden to carry, for it shall make thine own lighter! Bear it with them, going the second mile, that there trudge of life may become somewhat easier. And most of all, do this for the Master who is worthy. He hath borne it all for thee. Now, bear for Him. Bear another’s burden, and you shall, according to the truth of God’s Word, fulfill the law of Christ.

“Dear Lord, we praise you that you have borne all our sins. The LORD hath laid on you the iniquity of us all. You were wounded for us and bruised for us. Your own burdens were disregarded that you may take on our own. We are truly and everlastingly grateful for this. And may we, this day, bear the burden of some weary soul, that we may lighten their load and fulfill your glorious law. Show us who to help today! And we shall praise you for it. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
