Psalm 22:31
They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this.
Every day, thousands of babies are born! And those babies may be born in India, or they may be born in Nigeria; they may be born in Russia, or they may be born in Bolivia. But wherever and whenever those precious little princes and princesses make their dramatic entrance into the world, they shall be found among certain peoples. They shall be born into a family. Some will have a father and mother, some will have only a father they know. Some will only have a mother. Others will not have either, nor meet those from whom they have actually come. They find themselves in different countries, cultures, and climates. They find themselves among people swarthy and people fair. And wherever they are, most will not wander far from the nest. They will likely raise their own generations not too many hundreds of miles from their birthplace. These people shall continue to be born at an astounding and daily rate.
Now, the main and most important question is, who will declare the truth of God to this generation? Who will give God’s Word to a people that shall be born? They must pass it on to their own children. But how will they do such a thing if they do not receive those words themselves? The people being born must hear the truth, so that they may bequeath it to the next generation—the people who are yet to be born! There is nothing more imperative. There is nothing more valuable. There is nothing more incumbent upon us—more absolutely necessary. There is nothing that demands stricter and stronger obedience than this—that we must declare His righteousness unto a people that shall be born!
Now, what is it that must be declared. Well, the answer is as obvious as the sun in the sky. We must declare that “He hath done this!” He hath done it all! And He hath done great things, whereof we are glad! This whole world has been fashioned by Him! He hath done it! This nation in which we live has been conceived with the thoughts of truth and righteousness. Whatever nation we live in, we are only here by God’s hand, for He has determined the bounds of their habitation. How is it that we have His truth? It is because He hath done this! What a mighty God we serve! A God who has made the truth accessible and available to this generation. He hath done this! He hath given us His Word; He has provided for us His salvation! This generation must know, and they must know early, that He hath done this! We must faithfully and fervently declare His righteousness to a people which shall be born.
“Father, we thank you for the truth that has been so freely given to us as your people. And we thank you for those through whom the truth came, and from whom it has been passed down. Oh let us continue the passage of truth and righteousness! Let us continue to pass it along to a people that shall be born. For we know that you have done all things, and that you have done all things well! And we praise you for this. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.”
