1 Thessalonians 5:24

Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

Is the Lord not always faithful? By all means, our Lord’s faithfulness has never waned or diminished. It has never ceased and has never failed. He is the One who has kept us all this way wherein we go, and He is the One who will perform all things unto the end. Does He not say that He will “perform it until the day of Jesus Christ”? And here He says that He will preserve our whole spirit and soul and body blameless unto the coming of Jesus Christ. He will never fail! If we will only follow Him and yield to Him and let Him have control, then we will be preserved. If we are not preserved, it is only because our spirit and soul and body was not yielded to the Lord.

The Lord has called us to this. Every one of us has a great calling of God, according to His purpose and grace, and before the world began, to be His peculiar people with a special purpose. We have not come by happenstance, nor have we come across the portals of time without His care and keeping. He has called us to a great work, and He has stated that He will preserve us unto His great and heavenly calling. He will preserve us blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. And this faithfulness has been shown times without number. All the things He is working in our life, great or small, is for this very purpose—to preserve us blameless! Do not despise His work! Do not despise the trials and hard times, for the Lord is preserving us. He is molding, making, purifying, and sanctifying us for that day in which we will be face to face with our Redeemer. He is faithful! He Himself has laid upon Himself this charge—to preserve us blameless until His coming. Do not worry! Do not fear! Do not lose heart, courage, or strength, for the Lord is faithful, and He will do it! Submit to His working this day, and watch His beautiful plan and purpose become realized through your life, my friend. And then you will sing of His faithfulness in this life, and forever in the life to come.

“Father, we thank you for this great truth. Your faithfulness has been shown repeatedly and consistently, although we might have disregarded it at times to our peril. We have complained and murmured about the very thing that was the best for us! Because you were working in us for your glory and to accomplish your work. We believe that in all things you are faithful. We yield our spirit and soul and body to you, Lord, and may you perform all of your works unto the very end. We praise you for your faithfulness. In Christ’s name we pray, Amen.”
