Ephesians 6:18

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.

There is one thing, dear friends, that we can always do, and we can do it for everyone. Have you ever seen a person suffer, and grimaced to think that there was nothing you could do to help that person? Oh, how terrible it is! To be helpless, without a way to make a significant difference! Sometimes, it is not our own responsibility to help someone, but we are to help those that God has given us to help. You see, you may not be able to help someone with finances, with health, or with some other need, but there is something you can do! You can pray for that person! And you ought to! Never is there a wrong person to pray for! We can and should always be praying for everyone! And thus we are commanded by the Lord. We are to pray always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit. As the Spirit leads, and as He impresses on you a person who needs prayer, giving you a tenderness and a compassion for that person, pray for them, and pray earnestly. Pray with all supplication. This is an earnest entreaty for another. Intercede intensely on their behalf.

And then further, we are to be watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. There should always be someone you are praying for. And this requires perseverance. It demands importunity. We must continue praying and supplicating with persistence and incessant perseverance. And this we are to do for all saints! Everyone that we are acquainted with should know that they fall under this great spell of our prayer. They should know we are praying for them, and we will continue and not give up! Let us persevere in our supplication for all saints.

Today, we must think, who can I pray for? And who must I pray for that I have stopped praying for due to lack of earnestness and lack of importunity. Whom have I given up on? Let me persevere for them in prayer again, especially for the saints of God! Pray for others today. Supplicate for them. And do this for all saints, all those that you know and care for—those that the Lord has placed into your heart of care and concern. Pray always for all saints!

“Dear Lord, we praise you for the love of the saints. And may this day be a day wherein we begin to pray more earnestly, and to supplicate more frequently for those that we love. And help us to include other saints, those that we have just met. Help us to pray for them immediately, and to persevere in prayer for those whom you have put upon our hearts. We ask for your help and constant reminder of these things. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.”
