Job 31:15

Did not he that made me in the womb make him? and did not one fashion us in the womb?

Why should we not despise others? Why should we respect others? Why should we listen to those that contend with us? Why should we not simply disregard them as the scum of the earth, unworthy of our respect and time? Why should we give our attention and care to someone who has not attained to the level of society that we think we have? It is only for one reason. And this is a revolutionary reason. This very reason is the one ignored by Hitler, and hated by Stalin. It is the reason jettisoned by evolutionists, and repudiated by atheists. And everyone that has repudiated it has repudiated it to their own peril! For see! The reason is that we are both made by the same God, and fashioned by the same Creator! Why should we treat others well? Because we are equal; the same; on a level plane! The servant is the same as the prince. The maiden is the same as the mistress. In terms of value, we are all the same. Would to God all of His children would see this truth once and for all, never again to forget it! Nations have crumbled and governments have fallen because of a neglect of this principle. Churches have divided, and the saints have sinned by disobedience to the principle of equality. We have the same God! From the womb we are fashioned alike! Let us never see any difference that God has not created!

Now, my friend, are you struggling with another person, having a hard time seeing their value, their worth, or their usefulness? Do they simply serve to annoy you, to make you cringe at their existence? Remember this! The same God who made you made them! Yes! The same God formed you both in the womb! Both are of equal value. One may have a position of authority and one does not. One may have things ordered about well in their life, and one may not. But this does not affect the value of a person. Both are of equal and proportionate value, commensurate with one another in the eyes of God. Let us now, this day, see others as we see ourselves—innately valuable, and greatly loved in the eyes of God. This is a self-evident truth, endowed by our Creator! It is instinctual, intrinsic, inherent. If we see others how we see ourselves, we will begin to treat them as we would want to be treated. Let us tell the message and love of God to those who do not have it. Let us show care and concern for those who are downtrodden and cast out of the way. How will we have this heart for others? Only by remembering that we are created by the same God!

“Father, we thank you for reminding us today of a blessed and eternal truth—the truth about our Creator God. May it transform our thinking, and supplant our selfish tendencies. We are of equal value to all other humans created in your image and fashioned by your hand. Lord, help us this day to treat others with the respect that is due them because of their value in your sight, and because of the love you have for them. If they know not the truth, help us to be loving ambassadors of the truth. Help us, Father, to see through your eyes! In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.”
