Revelation 22:17

And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

There is no greater invitation given, no more embracing welcome than this found at the end of the canon of God’s Word. We are told to come. We are invited to approach the water of life, and that freely. We are told to eschew all timorous feelings and fearful apprehensions, and come with boldness and confidence to the fountain open for sin and for uncleanness. We are given free access and open admission to the River of Water of Life, which is clear as crystal, and proceeds from the throne of God. If anyone does not come, it is not that they have not been beckoned. It is only that they have refused the beckoning of God. It is that they have turned their faces from Him which welcometh all to salvation. He has made it available and free. Therefore, one rejects at his own peril, and ignores such an invite at his own destruction. For the Lord Himself says, “Come!”

The Spirit says, “Come!” You see, the Holy Spirit of God works incessantly and moves continuously in the hearts of men and women that they may come to this fountain of the water of life. He woos the saint and lulls the sinner to come. He is God’s agent of invitation. But then, the bride also says, “Come.” This the church of God, the wife of the Lamb. She is beckoning unto the world to come to the Savior. That is the responsibility of the bride, the duty of Christ’s church. They say, “Come!” If the church does not do this, there is no one who will call them. The church is the announcer, the proclaimer, the preacher of the good news-the good news that the Lord wants everyone to come! He that heareth says, “Come!” Everyone who hears the message of the gospel, and experiences the love of Christ, is to proclaim to the world that they may freely come and partake of the water of life. All who hear must tell! All who possess the good news must be couriers of the great gospel of Christ. Everyone who hears becomes responsible! They that hear have one message-to come to Christ! Let him that is athirst come! Is anyone thirsty? Is anyone famished from the wilderness of this world? Is anyone dry from the famine of this corrupt dwelling place? Then come! Come to the River of Water of Life! For it is clear as crystal, and it proceeds out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. All who are athirst may freely come. And whosoever will! There is no limitation, exception, or discrimination for this invitation. All may come. All may partake. All may enjoy. All may fill their appetite, and satisfy their soul on this water of life. Whosoever will!

Now, my friend, I ask you this day, are you doing your part to spread this wonderful news, that all may come! This is the message of the Spirit! It is the message of the bride! Take the message far and wide this day, that whosoever will may come! And we praise God that all of us, small and great, male and female, young and old, may partake of this water of life! All who hear may come! Whosoever will!

“Lord Jesus, we thank you that we can freely come without reservation or fear. We thank you that we have full salvation freely given to us. Our prayer is that you would help us this day to tell the world to come to Thee! May the bride welcome others and beckon them to the bridegroom! And may every person who has this good news shout on the housetops and preach on the streets the wonderful joy and hope of this proclamation. And may many come to this water of life because they have heard the good news of our Savior. Give us courage and boldness today, that whosoever will may see that they have an open pathway and a generous fountain available to them. Thank you for loving the whole world, and opening this fountain to all. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.”
