Revelation 21:5

And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

There is nothing more wonderfully comforting, and nothing happier and more eternally hopeful than this declaration. For you see! All things will be made new! All former things will be passed away! All ungodly things will be replaced by all things godly, holy, and pure. All wickedness will be eradicated and all impurities forever cast away. Night will be gloriously replaced with the eternal day of the Sun of Righteousness. All pain will be no more. Sorrow will flee away. Crying will exist no more. It will be nothing but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. All things, I say, everything will be made new. There will be no remembrances of the things which persecuted our souls, produced our pain, and perpetuated our sorrow. These things will be no more. And God Himself, who sits on the throne of Heaven, has proclaimed this.

Now, dear believer, let us not be attached to the temporal things of this world. Let us fix our minds and set our affections on things above, not on things on this earth. Let us remember that we are vagrant pilgrims, transient strangers, belonging to another world. Let us not give too much love or enjoyment toward the things contained in such a fallen world. But let us lay up for ourselves treasures in Heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thrives do not break through nor steal. For where our treasure is, there will our heart be also! Let us place little emphasis on that which will be forgotten, and give attention to those things which will be remembered! Set your affections there, my friend!

These words are true and faithful! Let us look to this great day that is coming! Let us constantly long for this great hope! For it will happen! It is true! All things will be made new. I exhort you this day, do not be discouraged concerning the things we see now. Do not be distracted from Heaven by this earth. For it will disappear in a moment. All things we be made new. Do you have pain? Pain is temporary, my dear friend. Do you have sorrow? That sorrow can only continue as long as this world continues. Do you deal with sadness, death, or grief? I tell you this day, that death will soon be a thing of the past, never to be recalled or recollected again. Oh, take comfort this day! For God, He has said, will make all things new!

“Father in Heaven, we thank you for this tremendous promise that has been given to us in your wonderful Word. For it has greatly strengthened our souls this day. Help us to remove our gaze from the things that will pass away, that we may lay our eyes and settle our hearts on the eternal joys of a tearless, painless, and nightless Day. How we long for this day! And how we praise you that every sad thing we experience here will soon be no more. We believe this promise! We take comfort in it! It has greatly helped our hearts and renewed our strength. It has filled us anew with great excitement for this hope that we have. Keep our spirits happy because of this truth. We pray these things in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
