All things are possible to him that believeth

Mark 9:23

Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

This statement is one of those statements in Scripture that we have difficulty digesting. It gets caught in our throat and upsets our bellies. We have a hard time believing it. For it seems unbelievable, incredible, unreal. And yet, it is found in the pages of God’s Holy Word. Moreover, it is spoken by the very Son of God. There could be no firmer base, and no stronger foundation upon which to plant our feet. To plant our feet on this statement is to give surety and stability to ourselves. To establish our footing on His saying is to reinforce the fabric of our lives. Placing all of our whits into His truth is like stepping into the safety of an iron clad and impenetrable cellar. Believing in Him is a solid rock for the believer. We must not doubt, but believe.

If thou canst believe! Some days we find it difficult to believe and we must cry, “Lord, I believe; help Thou mine unbelief!” But what if we could just believe? What if we could find solace in His promises? What if we could simply trust? What if we could believe Him for the biggest things, and believe Him for the smallest things? No doubt, in the end, we would say, “what hath God wrought!” But belief is requisite here. It is a necessary precursor to God’s working. If we can believe, all is possible! Belief precedes impossibility. Yes, Jesus told us, all is possible to him that believeth.

Now, beloved, is there an impossibility? Have you entertained the marvelous truth that it is no impossibility after all? For with God all things are possible. And with God nothing shall be impossible. If something is impossible, it is outside the power of God, it is stronger than He. And no such thing exists! All is within His great jurisdiction. All is possible with the Lord, and nothing is too hard for Him. There is no impossibility as we have thus imagined. It is only impossible to us, and to other members of our race. Mankind dwells within the confines of the possible. We live, think, breathe, and operate within possible parameters. We have not ventured beyond the fence of our own mind, and have not trespassed beyond the limits of our thinking. But it is time now! It is time to leave the human mind behind us, and begin our journey to the Divine! It is time to forget the impossibilities, the skepticism, and the incredulous hopelessness of humankind. It is now time to set our feet on higher ground, for all things are possible to him that believeth. Believe Him today! Trust and acknowledge Him in all thy ways. Eschew unbelief, doubt, fear, and speculation. Anchor your hope in Him! It is possible!

“Lord, it is hard for us to fully comprehend the power of your working. But, with all our hearts, we believe that Thou canst do all things. We believe that nothing is impossible with you; and furthermore, that nothing is impossible to him that believes, but that all is possible. Lord we believe! Help our unbelief! Show Thyself strong, as we trust in Thee. Create the impossible in our lives this day. But help us to believe, because that is the only requirement. We believe you now. We trust you. In Christ Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.”
