Revelation 12:11

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

The book of Revelation is unparalleled in its content and peerless in its literary beauty and picturesque imagery. You can transport yourself to the time of John, and enter into his vision, seeing and hearing the things that he saw and heard, and empathizing with the emotions that he would have felt as the drama unfolded. What a great story is taking place in this chapter! For you see! That old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world has been cast out after loosing the battle with Michael and his angels. He is cast out into the earth to work his final wrath and deception upon the inhabiters of the earth. The accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night! Praise God! He has been evicted from heaven! He has been cast out as a defeated, evil beast. He has been removed from the presence of the saints of God. He has no more power! He has been stripped of his influence and constant bombardment of the brethren. For you see, he has accused them before God night and day continuously. But now he has been cast out! And you and I should rejoice this day that the devil’s power is temporary, weak, and destructible. He will not stand, but will come to desolation. His house will fall! He will not endure! Praise the Lord! Bless His holy name!

Now, we must ask, how did the saints of God overcome the devil? By what means was their victory? It was by the blood of the Lamb! And by the word of their testimony. There is victory in the blood. There is power in the blood of the Lamb. There is no greater power! Power over sin, power over the Devil, power over the grave, and power over self. All of this power is found in the blood of the Lamb. His blood cleanses, renews, saves, and secures. We are more than conquerors through Him that loved us! How? Through His blood alone. We have been saved and purchased by His blood. It is the blood of Christ that will overcome.

They also overcame by the word of their testimony. What was their testimony? Their testimony was that they were saved and forgiven. What a testimony this is! We are not condemned, nor are we objects of God’s wrath. We are forgiven and saved by His blood. Use this testimony to defeat the Devil. Is the Devil assailing, assaulting, advancing upon you? Defeat him by the blood of the lamb, and by the word of your testimony! It will cast him down. He has no power over the blood of Christ, and has no authority to negate or nullify the word of your testimony.

These wonderful Christians loved not their lives unto the death. They were willing to lay their lives down for the Lord Jesus. They had surrendered and yielded their bodies to the Lord. For He is the Victor. We have no victory without Him, no triumph apart from Him. We must find our lives in His life. He is the great Commander. We are bound up in Him, for without Him we have no hope of winning the battle. But with him, we may overcome! And this is done by the blood of the Lamb, and it is accomplished by the word of our testimony.

“Now, Father, we thank Thee that Thou hast obtained victory for us through your Son. You have brought triumph through His blood. May we find victory in Him today. May we find victory over sin, over the Devil, and over any other fear, envy, hatred, or malice. May we defeat the Devil’s assailments through the word of our testimony—that we have been saved and bought by the precious blood of the Lamb. We praise and thank you for this wonderful victory we have in Christ, and the cleansing that He bestows on us. Today, we will overcome because of Thee! By Thee we will leap over a wall! With Thee we shall be victorious! And we thank Thee wholeheartedly for this. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.”
